The United States has resumed military assistance and intelligence sharing with Ukraine at full capacity, as it was before the temporary suspension, the US Department of Defense said. The official confirmation came at a briefing at the Pentagon, where department officials stressed that arms supplies and information transfers to Kyiv were already ongoing, ensuring continued support amid the ongoing conflict.
The decision to restore aid was the result of talks between the U.S. and Ukrainian sides held in Saudi Arabia on March 11. Following the meeting in Jeddah, Reuters reported, Kyiv agreed to Washington's proposal to introduce a 30-day ceasefire, which opened the way to lifting the pause in cooperation. A Pentagon spokesman noted that this step reflects the U.S. desire to promote de-escalation while maintaining a commitment to Ukraine's security.
"Deliveries continue, intelligence exchanges are ongoing daily," “he clarified, adding that the process is under the strict control of American military structures.
The resumption of support comes after a period of tension in U.S.-Ukraine relations following President Donald Trump’s decision to suspend aid in early March 2025, following a clash with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky during a White House meeting on February 28, according to CNN. The suspension, which lasted about two weeks, affected not only arms deliveries but also the work of American contractors in Ukraine, raising concerns among U.S. allies, including Poland, through which up to 95% of military aid to Kyiv passes.
Now, as Lt. Gen. Alexus Grinkevich, commander of the U.S. Central Command, noted, deliveries have resumed, and American specialists have returned to their duties servicing complex weapons systems such as HIMARS and Patriot in Ukraine. This decision, according to analysts, could strengthen the position of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, especially against the backdrop of recent losses in the Donbas and ongoing fighting in the Kursk region.
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski confirmed that the logistics hub in Jasionka is once again operating at full capacity, ensuring uninterrupted supplies through Polish territory.
