The United States tested new PrSM missiles for the first time

On June 16, 2024, the 1st Artillery Regiment of the Tennessee National Guard used an Autonomous Multi-Mission Launcher (AML) and two Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM) as part of Exercise Valiant Shield 24 Combined Joint SINKEX. During the exercise, AML and PrSM successfully engaged a naval target while operating in conjunction with other forces. These tests were the first demonstration of AML and PrSM capabilities outside the United States, indicating that the United States will soon phase out the use of ATACMS missiles and transition to PrSM.

The maximum range of the PrSM missile is 500 kilometers, which makes the system identical to the Russian Iskander-M OTRK. Although the details of the test launches remain unknown, the US claims that the system could fully justify itself.
