The United States of America is preparing a new package of military assistance for Ukraine worth $200 million. This decision was made by US President Joe Biden after a meeting with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.
The new package of military assistance to Ukraine will focus on ammunition, while information on the supply of weapons and equipment is not specified. It is planned that Ukraine will receive ammunition for air defense (air defense) systems, as well as HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
“The capabilities include air defense ammunition, air defense system components, additional ammunition for HIMARS systems, artillery ammunition (including 155 mm and 105 mm). This will be one of the last security aid packages we will be able to provide to Ukraine unless Congress acts to provide additional assistance.", said the head of the US State Department, Antony Blinken.
This statement was made against the background of Zelensky's recent closed meeting with senators of the US Congress, at which the Ukrainian president tried to convince American lawmakers of the need for additional financial support for Ukraine.
