US awards Raytheon $1,2 billion contract to purchase NASAMS air defense system

The United States signed a contract with Raytheon for the purchase of 6 NASAMS air defense batteries for Ukraine.

Taking into account the fact that the cost of one NASAMS air defense battery is $182 million, Ukraine will receive 6 additional batteries of these air defense systems from the United States. This implies the supply of 72 air defense launchers and a certain stock of missiles for them to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

With such deliveries of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they almost completely compensate for the loss of air defense systems previously available to the Ukrainian army, however, the deliveries will stretch for several years.
