Footage circulated on social media showed Russian military efforts to intercept the drones, including the sounds of gunfire in the skies above the city. However, there has been no official confirmation of the incident from regional authorities or the Russian Defense Ministry, leaving the situation in limbo. According to preliminary data, the target of the attack may have been military infrastructure associated with the 112th Guards Missile Brigade stationed in Shuya.

Video footage released by eyewitnesses shows flashes from air defense systems, and locals report loud noise and panic caused by the shooting.
