In Dimitrovgrad, Ulyanovsk Region, approximately 300 employees of the Moscow-based JSC Orgenergostroy Institute have declared a strike at the MBIR multipurpose fast neutron research reactor. The construction workers are refusing to go to the site until their outstanding wages are paid in full.
According to protesters, wages have not been paid since September 2025, travel allowances have been delayed since May-June, and vacation pay has been delayed since August. Furthermore, corporate lunches and company transportation have been cancelled, and shift workers are being evicted from their dormitories.
“We have no money to pay our loans, debts have piled up, living conditions are terrible: the toilets are overflowing, we buy water out of pocket,” — the employees stated in a video message to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin.
The management of Orgenergostroy is not commenting on the situation.
