The Basmanny District Court of Moscow issued a ruling on the arrest of Vladimir Shadrin, Head of the Department of the Cybersecurity and Protection Center of PJSC Rostelecom, and Anton Menchits, General Director of Complains Soft LLC. Both are accused of fraud on an especially large scale (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and will be held in custody until January 12, 2025. This was reported by the Telegram channel of Moscow courts of general jurisdiction.
According to the investigation, Shadrin and Menchits may have been involved in the theft of funds allocated for the purchase of software licenses. The total damage caused as a result of the alleged criminal actions is estimated at approximately 180 million rubles. The investigation believes that these funds were improperly used in the implementation of contracts for the supply of software.
Rostelecom stated that the company is cooperating with law enforcement agencies, providing the necessary assistance in investigating the case.
