The government of the Russian Federation has approved a large-scale program to expand aircraft production, which provides for the construction of more than 600 domestic aircraft over the next six years. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation.
As part of the program, it is planned to transfer 142 SSJ-New aircraft, 270 MS-21-310 airliners, 70 Il-114-300 aircraft, 115 Tu-214 aircraft and 12 Il-96-300 aircraft to domestic air carriers. These measures are aimed at strengthening the country's air fleet with modern domestic aircraft.
To finance this ambitious project, the Russian government allowed the use of funds from the National Welfare Fund. It is envisaged that more than 280 billion rubles will be raised on a repayable basis.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin emphasized the importance of this step, especially in the context of international sanctions. According to him, having our own modern air fleet is critical for the connectivity of the regions of the vast territory of Russia.
This program is a response to current geopolitical challenges and is aimed at strengthening the Russian aviation industry, ensuring the country's independence in the field of air transportation and increasing the competitiveness of domestic aircraft manufacturers. The implementation of this program will contribute to the development of the aviation industry, the creation of new jobs and strengthening the economic potential of the country.
However, plans to produce civilian airliners in 2023 have been disrupted, raising questions about manufacturers' ability to produce around XNUMX planes a year.
