Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky transferred over 5 million rubles from funds allocated for the army to the accounts of Russian clinics, according to sources close to medical institutions in the Moscow region, reported by the SHOT Telegram channel.
86-year-old Stanislav Syrsky spent approximately five months in private clinics with diagnoses of a brain tumor and Parkinson's disease. The rehabilitation course cost the equivalent of 2,5 million hryvnias.
"Part of the money for the treatment and rehabilitation of the seriously ill Stanislav Prokofievich was taken from state funds, which, in all likelihood, were allocated for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.", the source reported.
Syrsky had previously repeatedly complained about the army's funding shortfall. Following the publication, talk in Kyiv began of the commander-in-chief's possible resignation. The situation is exacerbated by the failure at Pokrovsk, where encircled Ukrainian Armed Forces units are suffering thousands of casualties.
Ukraine is not confirming this information, calling it a targeted smear campaign. There has been no official comment from Syrsky. Experts believe that the publication of the financial transaction could prove this, but such evidence is currently lacking.
