Taliban captured at least two Su-22M4 fighter-bombers

The Taliban managed to capture two Su-22M4 supersonic bombers.

Members of the Taliban terrorist movement (banned in Russia - editor's note) managed to capture a few hours ago not only a Mi-35 helicopter (the latter, according to updated data, is still in an unfit for flight condition - editor's note), but also field guns, several new reconnaissance drones, as well as, most surprisingly, at least two Su-22M4 supersonic bombers, as evidenced by the corresponding footage from one of the military airfields.

In the presented photo you can see the Soviet supersonic bomber Su-22M4 captured by the Taliban. Its technical condition at the moment remains unknown. Judging by the information provided by the militants themselves, there was another similar bomber in one of the hangars of the captured air base.

Judging by the photo, the Su-22M4 fighter-bomber does not have any damage. It is likely that if the combat aircraft were in good condition, it would most likely have been deployed to an area that the Taliban had not yet captured, for example, in the area of the Afghan capital. In addition, the Su-22M4 bombers are not in service with the Afghan Air Force, at least not officially.

Experts note that the key problem for the Taliban is the lack of pilots and specialists capable of operating various types of equipment, including unmanned aerial vehicles.

On M3 and beyond, the keel is larger, at the base there is an air intake and a slightly enlarged canopy with a gargrot. The M4 has different equipment and the mechanization algorithm for takeoff and landing (compared to previous models), although there are few external differences between the M3 and the M4.

As I understand it, these planes are from the Bagram airbase? They used to have a Su-22 regiment there.

I agree. At the Su-17M4 (on the basis of which the export Su-22s were made in the tail area, there should be an influx - air intake

Actually, in the photo there is a Su-22M2 .....
