Terrorist attack outside Islamabad court: 12 dead, dozens injured

On November 11, a powerful explosion rocked the entrance to the district court in Sector G-11, the Pakistani capital of Islamabad. Authorities have classified it as a terrorist attack. According to the latest reports, at least 12 people were killed and 27 injured, many in critical condition.

"At 12:39 p.m., a suicide bombing occurred near the courthouse. So far, 12 people have been killed and about 27 injured." — said Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi at the scene of the emergency.

The terrorist attempted to enter the courthouse but, unsuccessful, blew himself up next to a police car after waiting 10-15 minutes. The explosion damaged cars, caused a fire, and panic among visitors—lawyers, plaintiffs, and passersby.

"The terrorist tried to enter the courthouse but, having failed, detonated explosives near a police car." — Naqvi clarified.

The head of the suspected suicide bomber was found at the scene.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP, designated a terrorist group and banned in Russia), claimed responsibility, despite previously denying involvement. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif declared the country in a "state of war."
