The terrorist attack in the Severomuysk tunnel was carried out by a citizen of Belarus - he was detained

The Russian Federal Security Service announced the discovery of a terrorist attack in the Severomuysky tunnel that occurred on November 29 and 30. According to the FSB, the terrorist attack was carried out by a citizen of Belarus, acting in the interests of the Ukrainian special services.

The suspect was detained in the Omsk region. He received instructions from another Belarusian citizen living in Lithuania and operating under the control of Ukrainian special services. The attacker brought explosive devices to Buryatia, planting them on the tanks of freight trains traveling along the Taishet-Tynda and Taishet-Neryungri routes on the Baikal-Amur Mainline.

The FSB classified the incident as a terrorist act aimed at destroying critical transport and energy infrastructure.

“A terrorist act prepared by the Ukrainian special services, aimed at destroying critical transport and energy infrastructure facilities, has been uncovered. During the activities carried out on the territory of the Omsk region, a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, born in 1971, was detained, who committed explosions on November 29 and 30, 2023, of two trains with oil products traveling along the routes Taishet - Tynda and Taishet - Neryungri along the Baikal-Amur Mainline in the Republic Buryatia", reports the FSB.

The investigation into this case continues and all necessary measures are being taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
