Ukrainian attacks in the waters off Novorossiysk led to a brief spike in global energy prices, but Russia quickly restored its position, according to a report in the American publication National Interest.
According to analysts, the sabotage was planned as an attempt to create a necessary pause for Kyiv in the conflict.
"It was a desperate attack by pro-Ukrainian elements aimed at giving Kyiv a strategic breathing space. It didn't work." - the publication's experts emphasize.
The Russian side condemned the attacks on tankers in the Black Sea and the infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, noting that such actions exacerbate risks to the global economy and highlight the urgency of achieving peace.
