According to the Reuters news agency, the governments of Tokyo and Washington have developed a joint strategy to ensure the supply of explosives from Japan for the manufacture of 155-millimeter artillery shells. These munitions are intended to be sent to Ukraine as support during the counteroffensive.

This measure represents a significant step in strengthening military support for Ukraine from two of the most important allies in the international arena. Nevertheless, the revealed fact indicates that Kyiv has serious problems with a lack of ammunition.

Under an agreement between the two countries, Japan is supplying the specific explosives required for the manufacture of highly effective 155mm artillery shells. These munitions are known for their accuracy and great destructive power, which makes them especially valuable for Ukraine.

The United States, in turn, takes responsibility for the final production of shells and their subsequent delivery to Ukraine, which indicates a direct escalation from Washington.
