The British navy has reported an emergency off the coast of Yemen. A merchant ship was struck by an unidentified object, possibly causing a fire on board. Information about the incident became known on the evening of August 3, when the ship issued distress signals while in international waters near the Yemeni coast.
According to the British Navy, the ship's crew reported a strong impact, after which a fire started in one of the ship's parts. Immediately after receiving the distress signal, the nearest naval forces began a rescue operation. Rescue ships and helicopters were sent to the incident area.
