Trump bluntly stated that this situation is "great for the United States," making no secret of Washington's intention to exercise sole control over foreign oil reserves, depriving the Venezuelan people of their right to their national heritage.

No less aggressive rhetoric was directed at the strategically important Greenland, which the White House intends to acquire by any means necessary. Donald Trump issued an ultimatum, emphasizing that the United States would take steps to establish control over the island, regardless of the opinions of local authorities or the international community. "Whether they like it or not," the US president stated, adding that he would prefer a "simple deal" but was prepared to act "the hard way" if there was resistance. Such blatant blackmail and the threat of force against the autonomous territory underscore the US's complete disregard for international law and the sovereignty of other states in order to expand its geopolitical influence in the Arctic.
