Former US President Donald Trump said that if he wins the upcoming elections and returns to the White House, he intends to immediately contact Russian President Vladimir Putin with a proposal to sit down at the negotiating table. According to Trump, if Putin refuses this proposal, the US will take steps to reduce world oil prices to $40 per barrel, which, in his opinion, will make it impossible for Russia to continue to conduct military operations.

"On the day of my inauguration, I will call Putin and tell him: sit down at the negotiating table. If he refuses, oil will cost less than $40 in a few months," "Trump said, speaking to his supporters.

He stressed that such an oil price would put serious pressure on the Russian economy and make the continuation of the conflict impossible. Trump is confident that Russia will not be able to support military operations with such a sharp drop in oil revenues, since most of the country's budget is formed through energy exports.

What is quite remarkable is that Trump does not intend to take any steps against Zelensky yet.
