US President Donald Trump has decided to temporarily suspend active offensive operations against Iran, extending the current ceasefire. According to an official statement from the White House, this step was taken at the direct request of Pakistan's leadership – Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who are mediating the conflict. Trump noted that the Iranian government is currently seriously divided, making it difficult to develop a unified negotiating position. Therefore, the US side is prepared to wait for Tehran to present a consolidated proposal. Nevertheless, the president emphasized that his order to maintain the naval blockade remains in effect, and the US military is on full alert for any violation of the agreement.

In his speech, the American leader focused particularly on the situation around the Strait of Hormuz, calling Iran's threats to close it an attempt to "save face." Trump estimates that the closure of this vital transport artery is causing colossal damage to Tehran itself, which loses approximately $500 million daily due to the inability to export energy resources. The president asserts that the Iranian authorities are genuinely keen to see the strait reopened immediately, but Washington has no intention of taking this step until a final agreement is signed. Trump is convinced that maintaining the blockade is the only effective leverage to avoid the full-scale destruction of the country's military infrastructure and leadership in the pursuit of peace.
