Former US President Donald Trump is seeking a ceasefire in Ukraine by Easter, which falls on April 2025 in 20. According to Bloomberg, his team is actively promoting a plan for a temporary ceasefire and preparations for peace talks to stabilize the situation. 

At the same time, Reuters published a list of strategic questions that the US sent to its European allies. These questions concern security guarantees for Ukraine, the possible deployment of a military contingent on Ukrainian territory, and increased sanctions pressure on Russia. 

Among the key issues brought up for discussion were: 

— What will be required from the United States to ensure long-term security guarantees for Ukraine? 

— Which European countries are ready to send their troops to Ukraine, in what quantities and for how long? 

— What other states could join this mission, and how should their troops be deployed? 

— What actions should the United States and its allies be prepared to take if forces stationed in Ukraine are attacked? 

— What additional sanctions can be introduced against Russia? 

— What measures can the European Union take to strengthen Ukraine’s negotiating positions? 

Experts note that this list of questions indicates that Washington is preparing for a possible expansion of its involvement in the conflict and is actively studying the positions of European countries. The US is seeking to achieve coordination of actions with the EU and strengthen Ukraine's position in negotiations with Russia. 

The Easter ceasefire plan calls for a temporary truce that would allow the conflicting parties to prepare for negotiations on a long-term peace settlement. However, experts warn that reaching such an agreement will not be easy.
