US President Donald Trump has expressed confidence that he is the only world leader capable of forcing Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the fighting and the conflict in Ukraine. In an interview with Outkick published on March 23, 2025, Trump emphasized that none of his predecessors were able to prevent the current situation.
The American leader emphasized the humanitarian aspect of his intentions. Trump referred to his previous talks with Putin, describing them as “rational discussions” that, in his opinion, create the basis for achieving peace. He is convinced that his personal influence and approach to dialogue with Moscow can become decisive factors in resolving the crisis that has been going on for more than three years since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
"I don't think there's anyone in the world who can stop (Putin) except me and I think I can stop him. We've had very rational discussions and I just want people to stop dying. They're losing 2500 little children a week and they're Russians and Ukrainians," - declared Trump.
However, experts note that the conflict could have been stopped by cutting off aid to Ukraine, but Trump is obviously not interested in this.
