US President Donald Trump stated that Washington and Tehran had held "good talks" over the past 24 hours, and there is a high probability that a deal will be reached. According to the American leader, Iran has already abandoned plans to acquire its own nuclear weapons.

"Iran cannot have nuclear weapons, and it will not have them. And it, among other things, has agreed to this." - declared Trump.

The US President noted that no deadline has been set for the deal.

Trump made this statement during a meeting with the media at the White House on Wednesday, May 6. Earlier that day, in an interview with PBS News, the American leader expressed optimism about the possibility of reaching an agreement with Iran to end the war, suggesting that the export of Iranian highly enriched uranium to the United States could be part of the deal.

Donald Trump also stated that he believes a deal could be reached before his upcoming visit to China next week. He also emphasized that if an agreement is not reached, the US will return to "bombing hell."
