A captured Ukrainian tank destroyed the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Avdeevka area

On the southern flank of the Avdeevsky fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the section “Lastochkino - Tonenkoe - Severnoye - Avdeevka”, spectacular footage of the work of the T-64BV tank crew of the 1st separate guards motorized rifle Slavic brigade of the Russian Army was recorded. It is noted that this tank was previously captured from the Ukrainian army and is now used on the side of the Russian army.

The target of the tankers was a field active firing position of a mortar crew, presumably the 53rd mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, located on the southwestern flank of Avdiivka. The tank is equipped with a 125-mm 2A46M-1 gun, which fires at a distance of about 5500 - 6000 m. ZOF26 high-explosive fragmentation shells are used as part of ZVOF36 rounds with an initial projectile speed of 850 m/s and an average trajectory of 670 - 620 m/s.

The T-64BV, which is a trophy from the 1st Slavic Brigade, fell into the possession of the 1st Army Corps of the NM DPR, presumably in the period from 2014 to 2015. Similar machines are still at the disposal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The T-64BV tank is a representative of the Kharkov Soviet school of tank building. It is characterized by equivalent durability of the frontal armor plates of the turret: from armor-piercing finned sabot projectiles - 530 - 550 mm, from cumulative projectiles - about 800 - 850 mm. Such indicators are comparable to the Ural T-72B of the 1984 model, which emphasizes the efficiency of Soviet tank building.
