Turkey sent its minesweepers and patrol ships to the Black Sea.
According to the data provided by the Turkish Ministry of Defense, the country's Navy was put on high alert due to unidentified sea mines found near the Turkish coast and directly in Turkish territorial waters. This, as we found out, is about anchored sea and river mines, which were torn from their places of installation about a week ago by a storm.
According to the data presented, Turkey is extremely concerned about the current situation, in connection with which it has transferred minesweepers, patrol ships and maritime patrol aircraft to a state of high alert. It is known that Turkey intends to patrol the waters in the west and south of the Black Sea, without a direct approach to the coast of Romania and Ukraine, where these mines were first discovered.
At the same time, it should be noted that Turkey reports that the ownership of the mines has not yet been reliably established, although the Russian side has previously stated that the mines were planted by the Ukrainian military off its coast and about 400 of them were torn off your installation.
It should be noted that the use of such mines is prohibited due to the threat to civilian ships, while they are extremely problematic to detect.
