Turkey announces helicopter with Russian military shot down over Libya

A helicopter with the Russian military was shot down near a military base in Libya.

A few hours ago, Turkish media reported that a military multipurpose Mi-35 helicopter (according to other sources - Mi-8), carrying the Russian military, was shot down by an air defense system near the Al-Jufra airbase. The fate of the crew and military personnel remains unknown, however. the combat vehicle was completely destroyed, which is supported by the corresponding photograph.

“A helicopter carrying fighters from a private military company (PMC) Wagner crashed in central Libya. General Abdulhadi Dyrakh, representative of the command of joint operations of government forces in Sirte and Jufra, told Anadolu agency about this. The crash occurred near the Al-Jufra military base. "According to preliminary information, the helicopter exploded, killing four Russian Wagner mercenaries," said a spokesman for the Army of the Government of National Accord (GNA)., - about it сообщает Russian information publication "Lenta.ru".

According to information that appeared on social networks and messengers, the helicopter could have been shot down using a portable anti-aircraft missile system, however, there is no confirmation of this fact yet.
