Turkish militants attacked a Russian fighter jet over Idlib

Turkish terrorists tried to shoot down a Russian military plane over Idlib.

A few hours ago, during another series of attacks by the Russian Aerospace Forces on terrorists holding the Syrian province of Idlib, the Russian fighter was attacked by militants from a portable anti-aircraft missile system (MANPADS) of unknown production. The editors of the news agency Avia.pro obtained a photograph of the moment of the incident, judging by which the anti-aircraft missile either failed to catch up with its target, or else hit a decoy target that could have been fired by a Russian combat aircraft.

To date, this is the first attempt by terrorists to shoot down a Russian military plane over the province of Idlib in the past year. Apparently, the attack on a Russian military aircraft was caused by numerous attacks by the Aerospace Forces on the positions of the militants, who are suffering very serious losses both in weapons and in manpower.

By the current hour, there are no official comments from the command of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria. Experts draw attention to the fact that due to the use of MANPADS by terrorists, there is a rather serious threat to Russian aircraft, especially considering the fact that military transport aircraft fly through this region to the Khmeimim airbase in the Syrian province of Latakia.
