Turkish F-16s could shoot down another Russian Su-24 that violated Turkish airspace

The attacks of the Russian Aerospace Forces on Turkish mercenaries almost ended with the loss of another Russian Su-24.

The day before, Turkish F-16 fighters were lifted from Incirlik airbase to intercept the Russian front-line bomber Su-24, which, while striking Turkish mercenaries and terrorists in Idlib province, violated the border of Turkish airspace.

It is reported that as soon as the Russian front-line Su-24 bomber began to strike the area with Turkish mercenaries near the Turkish border, two F-16 fighters of the Turkish Air Force were raised from the Incirlik airbase into the sky. Only when the latter approached, the Russian front-line bomber violated the borders of Turkish airspace. It is known that by this time Turkish fighters were about 60 kilometers from the incident area and therefore could not attack the Russian bomber, since by that time it would have already entered Syrian airspace.

However, a serious incident almost led to a repeat of the incident that occurred almost six years ago, when a Russian Su-24, carrying out strikes against terrorists, entered Turkish airspace and was shot down by a Turkish F-16.

As the information and news agency Avia.pro found out, the Russian combat aircraft stayed in Turkish airspace for about 10-15 seconds. Apparently, the Russian bomber did not have enough space to turn after strikes.

The Russian side has not yet commented on this information.
