Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drone strikes Azerbaijani troops by mistake

Turkish Bayraktar TB2 mistakenly hit Azerbaijani troops.

The Bayraktar TB2 strike and reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle, transferred to the Azerbaijani army, due to an operator’s mistake, struck at the positions of the Azerbaijani troops, as a result of which almost two motorized rifle companies of the Azerbaijani military were liquidated. Information on this subject was voiced by one of the Azerbaijani servicemen, who was lucky enough to survive.

Giving a comment to journalists, the Azerbaijani soldier said that during the Second Karabakh War, the Bayraktar TB2 drone transferred by the Turkish side to the arsenal of Azerbaijan attacked the positions of the Azerbaijani military. As a result of multiple strikes (presumably, we are talking about four strikes with planning ammunition - ed.), 52 Azerbaijani servicemen were eliminated, while a significant number of wounded also took place.

Such a loud statement turned out to be a very significant nuisance for Baku, however, at the moment, no official comments on this matter have been made by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan. Moreover, versions have appeared that the drone strike might not have been erroneous - the strike on friendly could have been purposefully delivered in order to accuse the Armenian side and the military personnel from the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic of the attack.
