Fierce fighting continues in the Pokrovsk (Konstantinovsk) direction in Donbass, the Telegram channel "Two Majors" reported on September 17, 2025. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are attempting to cut off the Russian penetration into their defenses by attacking the salient in the area of ​​Zolotoy Kolodez, Pankovka and Nikanorovka in order to slow the advance of Russian troops towards Novotoretskoye.

At the same time, Russian forces continue their offensive in the areas of Novoye Shakhovo, Gruzskoye and Zolotoy Kolodez. In parallel, Russian troops are taking counter-actions aimed at disrupting the logistics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Shakhovo area. Mutual attempts by the parties to encircle the enemy's positions have led to a counter-battle for control over key supply routes.

Active use of drones by both sides is recorded in the skies above the combat zone. According to the channel, the fighting is heavy, with intensive use of artillery and drones.
