Tactical missile systems spotted near Finnish border

Tactical missile systems spotted on the border with Finland.

Against the backdrop of a discussion in the Finnish Parliament on the issue of joining NATO and a statement by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov that the expansion of the Alliance is a direct confrontation, operational-tactical missile systems were seen moving near the border with Finland, judging by the road pointer, just in the direction of the Finnish border.

On the presented video frames, you can see at least four mobile OTRK launchers of an unknown type (according to a number of assumptions, we can talk about complexes very similar to the Iskander or Iskander-M OTRK). The circumstances of the transfer of tactical missile weapons along the E-18 highway linking Russia and Finland remain unknown so far, since there are no official comments on this matter.

It is known that the Finnish parliament intends to consider the issue of applying for the country's accession to NATO during this week. Moreover, the application itself, according to a number of sources, can be submitted before the end of this month. This will significantly increase the confrontation between Russia and NATO, since in fact, from the Finnish border to St. Petersburg is only about 130 kilometers, and given the location of Finland, the latter has the ability to control the actions of the Baltic and Northern Fleets of the Russian Navy.

Helsinki has yet to comment on the current situation.
