A powerful explosion thundered in the territorial waters of Azerbaijan.

A powerful explosion took place in the territorial waters of Azerbaijan tonight. The causes of the explosion, which could be seen from a distance of more than 20 kilometers, remain unknown. There were Azerbaijani ships in this area, which does not exclude the possibility that we are talking about an explosion that thundered on one of them.

In the video footage presented, you can see a huge column of flame rising into the sky. After that, a powerful explosion thundered and burning continued directly on the surface of the water, which also indirectly indicates a possible explosion on one of the ships of the Azerbaijani Navy.

On the other hand, there are no official comments from representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan on this score, although a little earlier in the same region of the Caspian Sea, military exercises of the Azerbaijani Navy were held.

Among other things, experts pay attention to the fact that an explosion could have occurred on one of the gas production towers, however, the uncharacteristic combustion also calls this version into question.

In addition to the Azerbaijani fleet, the Iranian Navy also conducts its military exercises in the Caspian Sea. Taking into account the fact that the explosion took place in the waters of Azerbaijan, the version with the possible explosion of the Iranian ship is also considered unlikely.
