Russian fifth-generation fighter has a weak spot

The superior maneuverability of the Russian fifth generation fighter could become its main problem during close-range combat. We are talking about the elements of the tail, which, according to experts, during a hot battle at close distances, can not withstand significant alternating loads.

The specialist draws attention to the fact that previously a similar shape of the tail section was not used on Russian fighters, in particular, the Su-35, which is almost equal in maneuverability, uses a completely different tail, the design of which has a fairly high strength. In the case of the Su-57 fighter, this has a double effect on the combat aircraft - on the one hand, it increases the maneuverability of the Russian fighter, allowing it to make sharp turns in the air, however, on the other hand, relatively, at least visually, a weak rotary structure can simply be vulnerable to alternating loads, especially in critical conditions.

“Pay attention to the complex movements performed by the elements of the tail section. Under static loads, this is more than safe, however, when working under conditions of temperature change, at high speeds and under significant pressure, alternating loads, which are the most dangerous, can have the most negative effect on the fighter, this is actually the "weak point" of the Russian Su- 57 ", - says Yuriy Kostyuchenko, a specialist in the field of materials processing.

At the same time, the expert draws attention to the fact that such fears may be completely in vain, since tens of models of behavior of each structural element of the Russian Su-57 were built

According to some reports, by the end of this year, the Russian Aerospace Forces may receive the first serial fighter of the fifth generation, the Su-57.
