British LMM Martlet supersonic missiles spotted for the first time in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The British LMM Martlet supersonic missiles appeared in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian military received launchers and LMM Martlet supersonic missiles delivered to Ukraine from the UK. Officially, such weapons were not transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to video footage released by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one of the Ukrainian soldiers is holding a portable launcher on his shoulder, which, by the way, was used to hit an unknown air target with an LMM Martlet supersonic missile. Such a missile is capable of developing a supersonic speed of MAX 1,5 and hitting air targets at distances of up to 8 kilometers, which is currently the longest-range man-portable anti-aircraft missile weapon available to the Ukrainian army.

It is known that one of the goals of the Ukrainian military was an unmanned aerial vehicle. Moreover, it is noteworthy that a heat-seeking missile could not be used to destroy a drone, in connection with which options for LMM Martlet missiles with a laser homing head were handed over to the Ukrainian military.

The appearance of such weapons in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a significant danger, since the location of such air defense systems is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to control.
