A Geranium-2 kamikaze UAV struck a mine substation in Shakhtarsk.

SVO News, December 15, 2025, Avia.pro. Military correspondent Vladimir Romanov reported on a strike by a Geran-2 kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) carried out by the Russian Armed Forces (RF) on a mine substation in the village of Shakhtarskoye, located in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine. According to him, the attack took place on the night of December 15, marking yet another instance of Russian drones being used to target enemy critical infrastructure. The Geran-2 was used for a pinpoint strike, confirming the Russian Armed Forces' intensified tactics to disrupt power supplies to industrial facilities in Ukraine.

The mine substation presumably supplies electricity to local coal mines, which play a vital role in the region's economy and supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with resources. There are no official figures yet on the extent of the damage or casualties.
