SVO News, December 11, 2025, Avia.pro. The Russian Armed Forces launched a combined strike on the Svitlovodsk Hydroelectric Power Plant in Ukraine's Poltava Oblast overnight. According to Russian military correspondents, the operation involved Geran-2 kamikaze drones and at least three Iskander missiles, including cluster munitions.
The attack occurred near Kremenchuk, where the power plant is located. Ukrainian air defense forces recorded the launch of several dozen drones and missiles at energy facilities in the region. Kyiv officials have not yet commented on the extent of the damage or the possible impact on power supplies, but similar strikes last year caused localized outages in the Poltava region.
The Svetlovodsk hydroelectric power station is part of the system of key hydraulic structures in Ukraine and has previously been the target of Russian operations.
