As it became known, a series of attacks by the Russian Aerospace Forces on the city of Stryi in the Lviv region was caused by Russian intelligence data about the impending deployment of Ukrainian F-16 fighters. Information on this matter was voiced by Ukrainian information resources.
According to the data presented, in Stryi, which has the necessary infrastructure, including an airfield and a strategically important railway junction, it is planned to deploy the first squadron of F-16 fighters of the Ukrainian Air Force. This move is seen as a significant increase in Ukraine's military power and a potential threat to regions on Russia's western borders.
It is noted that in response to this information, the Russian Aerospace Forces took targeted actions to neutralize the possibility of the enemy using this infrastructure. The targets for missile strikes were key facilities capable of supporting the functioning of the airfield and railway transport, which should complicate the ability to transport and operate aircraft.
