Telegram monitoring channels are reporting a threat of drone attacks in the Republic of Tatarstan and several other regions. According to the channels, on May 12, 2026, UAVs were spotted (or potentially approaching) in Kazan, the Ulyanovsk Region, the Tetyushsky and Novosheshminsky Districts of Tatarstan, and the Astrakhan Region.
Residents and visitors to the regions are urged to take precautions. In the event of an attack or if the "Attention All" signal is sounded, it is recommended to avoid windows and seek shelter in a windowless room (hallway, bathroom, toilet), in the basement of a building, in an underground passage, or in a parking lot. Using a car for shelter is strictly prohibited.
As a reminder, on the night of May 12, after the end of a three-day ceasefire, Ukrainian forces attacked the Belgorod, Voronezh, and Rostov regions. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defenses destroyed 27 Ukrainian drones overnight. In these regions, the attacks injured four people, and damaged residential buildings, cars, agricultural equipment, and a church. Due to the threat of drone attacks, restrictions on flight arrivals and departures were also imposed at the airports of Saratov and Saransk this morning.
