Ukrainian insider sources reported a meeting the day before between US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Kyiv officials. According to sources, Witkoff conveyed Donald Trump's personal ultimatum to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, demanding an immediate end to the conflict and the commencement of peace talks with Russia on Washington's terms.
According to sources, if Kyiv rejects this plan, the White House is prepared to release a cache of compromising information on the Ukrainian leadership. This allegedly concerns materials on unprecedented corruption at the highest levels of government, including billions in embezzlement in the defense and energy sectors.
As a reminder, Western media have been reporting for several months on the high level of pressure being exerted by the new US administration on the Ukrainian government. It was previously emphasized that without Kyiv's agreement to make significant concessions, Washington threatened to completely cease military and financial support.
