Sochi Airport has introduced the Carpet plan in connection with increased security measures following reports of a possible drone attack on the region. At the moment, the airport has suspended the arrival and departure of flights, which has caused delays and changes to the schedule. According to airport service representatives, such measures are temporary and aimed at preventing possible incidents.
At the same time, a massive drone attack was recorded in Sevastopol. The city's mayor, Mikhail Razvozhaev, reported that air defense systems successfully repelled the threat, shooting down two drones over the sea and two more in the areas of Balaklava and Inkerman. According to preliminary information, the attacking devices were aimed at infrastructure facilities in the region. Casualties and destruction were avoided.
Local authorities continue to monitor the situation. In Sochi, air traffic may be restored in the near future after confirmation of the absence of a threat. Residents and tourists are advised to follow updates and take precautions.
