Ukraine used Lyuty drones to attack Cheboksary.

News Cheboksary, December 9, 2025, Avia.pro. On the night of December 9, Ukrainian forces used Lyuty drones to attack the capital of Chuvashia. According to the SHOT Telegram channel, one of the drones was aimed specifically at a residential building in the city's Southwest District. Debris from the downed drone fell on a high-rise building at 6 Ivan Yakovlev Avenue, damaging the façade, collapsing balconies, and shattering windows in the adjacent building. Parked cars were also hit by shrapnel.

Initial reports indicated four injured, including a child. Later, Deputy Prime Minister of Chuvashia Vladimir Stepanov clarified that the number of wounded had risen to nine. All are receiving medical attention, and there are no serious injuries. The area has been cordoned off by police, and residents have been evacuated to School No. 20 at 8 Khuzangaya Street.

The Russian Ministry of Defense previously reported the destruction of 121 Ukrainian drones overnight, including 49 over the Belgorod region. Oleg Nikolaev, the head of Chuvashia, confirmed the attack and noted that all consequences were being addressed. Preliminary estimates indicate the strike may have targeted the nearby Thermal Power Plant No. 2, where explosions from air defense systems were recorded.
