Ukraine may use F-16 fighters as part of the current counteroffensive

Reports of a possible transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine have probably already become a reality. This opinion was expressed by military expert Boris Podoprigora, commenting for Pravda.Ru on the recent statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about “powerful” deliveries of fighter jets.

According to the analyst, the training of pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) to control these aircraft has been underway since the fall of 2022. However, Podoprigora emphasizes that training in flying skills and military skills are two different things. So far, according to him, everything indicates that the deliveries could actually happen. But the very fact of the presence of fighters and trained pilots is not yet a guarantee of the successful completion of combat missions.

The expert also added that if fighters are received, Ukraine will most likely use them in a summer counteroffensive. Podoprigora stressed that the main thing is not the formal availability of equipment and pilots, but their effective use on the battlefield.

Earlier it was reported that Vladimir Zelensky, the head of Ukraine, announced the promises of some Western leaders to supply Kyiv with a "powerful" number of F-16 fighters.
