Ukrainian forces have begun using ultra-light B-2 kamikaze drones to hunt surface-to-air missile systems (SAMs). This drone is characterized by its small size, making it a stealthy and difficult target for air defense systems.
According to information published by the Telegram channel "Military Informant," the main reason for the creation of this device was the problem that Russian air defense systems designed to intercept standard aerial targets often simply cannot hit such a small drone due to its diminutive size.
The tactic revolves around inflicting damage with precision-guided munitions: a drone delivers a pinpoint strike on a critical component of the system, disabling it. The loss of a single air defense system, which can cost tens of millions of dollars, to an attack by a cheap UAV is a serious problem.
