Former head of Ukroboronprom Oleksandr Kamyshin reported that Ukraine has begun producing its own 155-mm artillery shells. According to him, the creation of its own production will provide the Ukrainian army with the necessary shells without dependence on Western supplies. Officially, production volumes are not disclosed, however, according to some data, we are talking about the production of 2 thousand shells per month, with the prospect of expanding production to 8 thousand shells per month.
Until this point, Ukraine had relied on supplies of ammunition from Western allies, but due to the lack of capacity in Western countries, a decision was made to begin producing its own shells.
