The Russian Defense Ministry reported a massive missile attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Bryansk region that occurred on the night of January 14. According to the department, six US-made ATACMS operational-tactical missiles and six Storm Shadow cruise missiles provided by Great Britain were used in the strike. In addition, Russian air defense recorded and destroyed 31 aircraft-type drones aimed at objects in the region. According to the Defense Ministry, there were no casualties or injuries as a result of the attack.
The targets of the attack were presumably infrastructure nodes and important objects in the Bryansk region. However, thanks to the effective work of the air defense, the attack was successfully repelled and its consequences for civilian infrastructure were minimized. Operational services are working at the sites of the alleged strikes, collecting debris from missiles and drones for further analysis.
The use of Western-made weapons remains a matter of international controversy. NATO countries continue to support Ukraine, calling the arms supplies an important part of its defense. Russia, for its part, says such actions constitute direct Western interference in the conflict and contribute to further destabilization.
