Ukraine continues to be active in the Black Sea, receiving significant support from international partners. Australia has announced the transfer to Ukraine of 14 Sentinel 830r riverine and open water boats (RHIBs). These boats will enhance the Ukrainian fleet’s capabilities in the challenging conditions of the Black Sea.
In addition, Romania, with the support of Great Britain and Norway, has decided to open a training base on its territory for training landing units of the Ukrainian Navy. The base will operate for at least two years, which will emphasize the long-term nature of this initiative.
Earlier, it was reported that the UK transferred 50 small military boats to Ukraine, and the total number of watercraft received from other countries exceeded 200. These supplies strengthen the naval forces of Ukraine, providing them with new capabilities for conducting operations in the Black Sea. Also in September, during the Sea Breeze 2024-3 exercises, US Navy specialists trained Ukrainian divers to conduct underwater operations.
Since August, high activity has been recorded by Ukrainian naval special forces, who are attempting to land on the Kinburn and Tendrovskaya spits, as well as on Russian gas production facilities.
