The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused Russia of attacking the energy infrastructure supporting the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne nuclear power plants. Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha announced this, calling for an urgent meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

"During a massive shelling attack on the night of November 8, Russia targeted substations supplying electricity to the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne nuclear power plants. These were not random, but well-planned strikes. Russia is deliberately jeopardizing Europe's nuclear safety. We call for an urgent meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors to address these unacceptable risks.", - Sibiga reported

According to Ukrainian sources, the attack resulted in damage to facilities that ensure the stable operation of the power units at the plants. Kyiv emphasized that such actions pose a threat not only to Ukraine but also to neighboring countries.

The Russian side has not yet commented on such accusations.
