The Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced significant achievements in the field of weapons production. The head of the department, Rustem Umerov, announced the start of serial production of the Palyanitsya missile, as well as the resumption of production of R-360 cruise missiles for the Neptune complex.
The Palyanitsya missile is a small drone missile that does not have a complex guidance system or a large warhead. This makes it cheaper and easier to manufacture than cruise and ballistic missiles. The Strana publication notes that such characteristics allow Ukraine to significantly increase the number of missiles produced and ensure their availability to the armed forces.
The resumption of production of the R-360 cruise missiles for the Neptune complex is also a worrying step. These missiles are designed to hit sea and land targets at long distances. Production of the R-360 was suspended due to various factors, including economic and technical difficulties, but now, according to Umerov, all obstacles have been removed and production has resumed in full.
