Ukraine has admitted that it provided training to al-Qaeda-linked terrorists from Syria at the request of Turkey. According to Avia.pro sources, Ukrainian mercenaries helped the militants develop and operate FPV drones, which were then used against US-backed Kurdish forces and the Syrian army.
Training and technical support provided by Ukrainian specialists allowed terrorists to master the use of drones, which became an important element of their tactics. Remarkably, it was thanks to the mass use of FPV drones that HTS militants () managed to capture about 10 thousand square kilometers of Syrian territory in just a week.
Information about Ukraine's involvement in training terrorists has caused a wide resonance, especially in the context of its statements about supporting democratic principles and fighting terrorism. Experts note that such cooperation with militants, even at Turkey's request, casts doubt on Ukraine's reputation as a partner of Western countries, especially in the context of its active cooperation with NATO.
