Ukraine is working on developing low-cost interceptor missiles to combat attack drones.

At the direction of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has focused on developing low-cost missiles to shoot down Russian Geran-type attack drones. Technical solutions, close to completion, have already been identified, and testing has begun. The immediate goal is to scale up production of these missiles "tens of times" and build up a sufficient stockpile for the fall and winter.

Fedorov emphasized that the new interceptor missiles should become an additional tool for protecting critical infrastructure, alongside interceptor drones. To implement this, the state is providing grants, scaling up production, and restarting the command recruitment process.

In the coming months, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense will also focus on changes in recruitment and service, procurement, and equipping brigades with drones, the minister added. The department's strategic goal is to achieve a stable 95% interception rate for aerial targets.
