On May 18, 2026, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced the completion of the development of the first domestically produced guided aerial bomb (GUAB). According to him, the weapon was developed by a member of the Brave1 defense hub, has passed all necessary tests, and is ready for combat use.
The bomb's warhead weighs 250 kilograms. Development took 17 months. Fedorov emphasized that this is not a copy of Western or Soviet models, but a completely original design by Ukrainian engineers, adapted to the realities of modern warfare.
The bomb is designed to destroy fortifications, command posts, and other targets. Its launch range is "tens of kilometers," allowing carrier aircraft to carry out strikes without entering air defense zones.
