Ukraine: Russia can easily create a no-fly zone anywhere

In Ukraine, they reiterated that the airspace over the Crimean peninsula "belongs to Ukraine." At the same time, not long ago, NATO aviation was invited in Kiev "to fly in the Crimea region) in the exercise zone of interaction between the military bloc and its allies, to which Ukraine belongs. Kiev is aggravating the situation and pulling forces and means to the areas bordering the Crimea - to the Kherson and Nikolaev regions.

Probably, the Ukrainians believe that the appearance of NATO combat aircraft in the area of the Crimean air borders "will demonstrate to Russia the seriousness of the situation." However, it becomes clear that the North Atlantic bloc is not going to unleash a war for Ukraine, but they may well take part in such a provocation. And if you reflect on the Ukrainian invitations to "fly in the Crimea region", then the provocation may well relate to the aviation component.

Kiev is forgetting that with further escalation in the region and attempts to connect NATO military aircraft, Russia will be able to turn the airspace over the Northern Black Sea region and the northern part of the Black Sea into a no-fly zone. There are both means and opportunities for this.

An air defense division re-equipped with S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems is based in Crimea. In addition, the protection of the airspace, including strategically important infrastructure on the peninsula, is provided by other air defense systems, for example, the Pantsyr-S1 air defense missile system.

The functions of monitoring and protecting the airspace in the northern Black Sea region are assigned to units equipped with electronic warfare and countermeasures systems. To create a no-fly zone, the command of the troops can also connect the aircraft of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy, including the Su-30SM fighters. Therefore, in fact, Russia is prepared for any provocation in this direction.
